Kuwait Finance House - Bahrain's (KFH-Bahrain) Ahl Al Ata'a network recently organized a charity walkathon in Dohat Arad under the slogan "Walk for a Child". The walkathon aimed to raise funds for the Children's Wards in Salmaniya Medical Complex as well as the Children of Al Wafa Center, a member of the Bahrain Association for Intellectual Disability and Autism. A Large number of KFH-Bahrain's management, employees, subsidiaries, family members, friends and members of the general public participated in the walkathon. Donations were collected in two forms; through buying participation vouchers at BD 2/- each, and obtaining sponsorship from KFH-Bahrain and its subsidiaries to support Salmaniya Medical Complex's Childrens Wards and Al Wafa Center needs. Participants were encouraged to walk more, as the value of the sponsorship will increase with the distance they walk. The total amount raised from the event was more than BD 42,000. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yousif Al Hammadi, Head of Financial Control and Administration at KFH-Bahrain said, "We are delighted with the high turnout and the number of individuals showing their support. Occasions such as these allow people from all walks of life to demonstrate their solidarity with this important cause." "Since its inception in 2002, KFH-Bahrain has been involved in charity activities and this walk is one of our initiatives to serve the community. We at KFH-Bahrain believe that every organisation has a role to play in the community, especially when it comes to critical issues of health. Everyone has the right to good health and we should all work towards achieving this goal with all available means", he added.
