Reaffirming its commitment to support education and innovation to enhance opportunities for Bahraini youth, Kuwait Finance House-Bahrain (KFH-Bahrain) announced the successful conclusion of the 5th Annual Sophia Antipolis Mentorship Programme. KFH - Bahrain provided full sponsorship for the innovative programme which is in-line with Bahrain's 2030 Economic Vision. The main objective of the mentorship programme was for Bahraini high achiever students to gain in-depth insights into a leading entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sophia Antipolis, France. The location is considered to be one of the most innovative, entrepreneurial and fast paced business environments in the world and provides students with an experience that can have a long term impact on those who aspire to be the future leaders of our Kingdom. Mr. Abdulhakeem Alkhayyat, Managing Director and CEO of KFH - Bahrain greeted the students at the Bank's Headquarters in the Bahrain World Trade Center, and stated, "these young Bahraini high achievers constitute as one of the most important pillars of society and we at KFH - Bahrain look towards those who gained this experience with great expectations." The meeting gathered the 12 young Bahrainis and their representative mentors from both KFH - Bahrain and Tamkeen at a debrief session which focused on the comprehensive programme that connected the students to the most influential network of entrepreneurs in Europe. It was apparent that through the multiple learning and networking opportunities that the students were open to, the programme enabled them to significantly sharpen their skills both as future entrepreneurs and leaders. The group explained how they participated in a leadership simulation exercise that involved them making crucial decisions relating to businesses and organizations. The impact and consequence of these decisions were then able to be analyzed by screening a film that they created as part of the exercise. Dr. Philippe Mariani, Senior Manager at KFH - Bahrain, and coordinator of the programme added "The experience that these students gained was exceptional and will contribute highly towards influencing them into thinking in new and entrepreneurial ways. The knowledge they would have obtained is invaluable from one of the utmost innovative environments in the world." During the meeting, students gave feedback on the corporate discovery dates and how they represented a unique cross fertilization of competences between aspiring leaders and the most unique entrepreneurial ecosystem. Also, to further emphasize the value of cultural immersion, the group had been invited to a unique exclusive private visit of the Maeght Foundation by Chairman Mr. Adrien Maeght and discover the exhibition of the pioneer French artist Chagall. The Sophia Antipolis Mentorship Programme is a joint initiative between KFH - Bahrain, Young Arab Leaders Organization (YAL) and InJAz Bahrain. The programme hosts a select group of Bahraini students in an intensive leadership training course at Sophia Antipolis and Technology Park located in the South of France. The students are selected based on their academic excellence and distinctive scholastic track records.
