As a part of its role in supporting youth and sports in Bahrain, Kuwait Finance House-Bahrain announced its support of Mr. Abdulla Abdul Aziz Al Thawadi, who is competing with the Saudi Arabia Falcons team at the World Karting Championship. In a ceremony held at KFH-Bahrain headquarter at BWTC, Mr. Khalid Rafea, Executive Manager and Head of Banking Group at KFH-Bahrain handed over the cheque to Mr. Abdulla Al Thawadi. On this occasion, Mr. Khalid Rafea commented "As a supporter of youth and sports in the Kingdom, KFH-Bahrain is happy to offer its support to the driver Abdullah Al Thawadi to enable him to participate in one of the most prominent karting championships in the world. The Bank aims to support all efforts that seek to raise the name of Bahrain internationally. We always encourage Bahraini youth to engage in such sporting events." KFH-Bahrain is pursuing a clear policy in interacting with various segments of the society, through sponsoring and supporting various sports activities in order to promote the sports sector in Bahrain. In addition, we aim to motivate youth in order to bolster their creativity and talents in various fields. We are pleased to provide our support to Mr. Al Thawadi and wish him success in this endeavor." He added Mr. Abdullah Al Thawadi expressed his thanks and gratitude to KFH-Bahrain for their support in racing and competing along with his colleagues at Saudi Arabic Falcons in the World Karting Championship. Mr. Abdullah Althawadi is a talented young driver who has recently joined the Saudi Falcons team after achieving a number of successes locally. He gained experience in international Karting races after participating at the World Karting Championship for drivers under 18 years at the Dubai Autodrome Motorsport Club. The World Karting Championship 2013 is conducted by CIK/FIA for Karting drivers aged between 15 to 17 years old and it includes over 150 drivers from all over the world. The World Championship’s first round takes place in London, UK from the 29th of August to the 1st of September. The second round takes place at the VIVA International Karting Circuit in Sukheer between 13th and 16th of November. Al Thawadi has recently returned from the Italian Karting Circuit at the city of Ortona, after going through several training sessions to prepare for the World Championship considering he is the only Bahraini participants at the race. In coordination with Parolin Racing Kart, Al Thawadi underwent special training to refine his skills and to proudly raise Bahrain's flag during this historic two day race. The intensive program included holding a large number of training sessions with world class championship karts, so that he can get used to its strength, handling and system which is different than other karts. Al Thawadi has done great and currently is continuing his training at Bahrain until the date of the first rounds in the UK.
