In line with its belief in supporting and honouring high achievers in various disciplines in the Kingdom, Kuwait Finance House - Bahrain (KFH-Bahrain) announced its sponsorship of the Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa Prize for Medical Research award ceremony. The prize aims to honour the winners who produced the best medical research, published in the Bahrain Medical Bulletin during in 2007. The prestigious ceremony will be held at The Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel Residence & Spa, Bahrain on 10th of April 2008. It will be attended by recognised pioneers and leaders of the medical profession in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the region.Dr.Jaffar Al Bareeq, founder and chief editor of the Bahrain Medical Bulletin said "Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa Prize for Medical Research was established to encourage health and medical research in Bahrain and the Arab world. The Prize awarded by the Bahrain Medical Bulletin, is considered to be one of the most important medical events held in the Kingdom. The ceremony will be attended by health care pioneers to celebrate the doctors and researchers who have contributed highly in raising the level of health and medical services through their research". He added: "Award winners were selected by a distinguished Jury including the elite of senior doctors and specialists in the Kingdom of Bahrain." Commenting on this occasion, Mr. Abdulhakeem Alkhayyat the General Manager of the KFH-Bahrain said, "We at KFH-Bahrain have adopted the culture of honour and appreciation of the distinguished and high achievers in all fields with the focus on the medical and educational sector. Over the past few months we honoured many physicians who obtained high specialised qualifications, from Bahrain Medical Society, Bahrain Dental Society and doctors of the BDF hospital. Today we take this initiative a step further by seeking to appreciate the researchers whom have contributed in uplifting the medical field and medical care in Bahrain and also to encourage young doctors to advance further in the scientific research field.
