In recognition of his lifelong contributions to the Islamic banking industry, Kuwait Finance House - Bahrain (KFH), hosted a dinner at the KFH Club in honour of Dr Abdul Sattar Abu Ghuddah, the prominent Islamic scholar. The dinner was attended by Mr. Abdulhakeem Alkhayyat, the Managing Director and CEO of KFH-Bahrain and other senior officials in the Bank. Dr. Abdul Sattar Abu Ghuddah is currently the Sharia'a Advisor and Director of the Department of Financial Instruments at Al-Baraka Investment Company, Saudi Arabia. He holds several degrees in Islamic Law from different universities including Damascus University and Al Azhar University in Cairo where he obtained his PhD in Islamic Law. He is an active member of the Islamic Fiqh Academy in Jeddah and the Accounting & Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions. Dr. Abdul Sattar teaches Fiqh, Islamic studies and Arabic in Riyadh and has performed the valuable task of researching information for the Fiqh Encyclopaedia complied by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Kuwait. Dr. Abu Ghuddah is a member of the Shari'a advisory committees for leading Islamic banks. He wrote numerous books and articles on Islamic economy, finance and banking.
