Her Highness Shaikha Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad and Supreme Council for Women Chairwoman, officially opened the MTC-Vodafone E-Learning Centre at the University of Bahrain. Kuwait Finance House-Bahrain have supported the University with a donation of BD 60,000.000 to open the centre, the first of its kind in Bahrain. The centre will stage specialist scientific symposiums, workshops and an International e-Learning Conferences and Exhibitions. It also offers 150 e-courses, some of which are already underway from a temporary base in the College of Business Management. The Director of the centre, Mr Khalid Bugahous said at the opening, " We are delighted to bring the first ever e-learning centre to Bahrain and are excited by the wealth of International Knowledge that this facility will bring to our students through the myriad of e-courses we will be conducting". Mr. AbdulHakeem AlKhayaat, General Manager of Kuwait Finance House-Bahrain, said, "By sponsoring the E-Learning Centre we are ensuring our youth have all the tools available to succeed by offering educational facilities that are world-class.
