Kuwait Finance House - Bahrain has recently organized a "Walk for a Cause" initiative as part of the Bank’s “Think Pink” breast cancer awareness initiatives held during the month of October.
The initiative was organized on 28th October, wherein Bank employees participated by walking individually either from home or office, or by walking at one of the landmarks of the Kingdom of Bahrain during specified hours that had been set for the cause, while taking all precautionary health measures and with adherence to the social distancing practices during the current pandemic.
The Bank committed to donate 1 Bahraini Dinar for every hundred steps achieved by the employees who had participated. The total number of steps achieved by the employees reached 500,000 steps during the day, and accordingly BD 5,000 /- was donated to the Bahrain Cancer Society to support the Society’s efforts and cancer prevention plans.
The initiative also included awareness sessions delivered to women staff members through the Bank’s teleconferencing platforms. These lectures aimed to encourage women’s adoption of health-supportive practices, and covered information on women's health at the various stages of life, in addition to educational instructions to raise awareness of breast cancer and means of its prevention and detection. The sessions also comprised of conversations with recovered cancer patients who have shared their experiences and resilience in overcoming cancer health challenges.

We have also aimed specifically through this initiative to enhance the health and wellness of women, through maximizing both physical and mental health awareness and to ensure that our women team members enjoy healthy lives all along and are enabled to resiliently face and overcome any challenges.”
