An Economic Delegation from Algeria met with Mr. AbdulHakeem AlKhayyat, General Manager of Kuwait Finance House-Bahrain, and Mr. Yusif Taqi, Chief Executive Officer of Al Salam Bank, to introduce investment and business opportunities in Algeria, in the various economic sectors. Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director of Government Shareholdings at the Ministry of Finance also welcomed the delegation to Bahrain. The Algerian Economic Delegation lead by Mr. Bal-Khair Joobeev, Vice President of Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented an overview of the business environment in Algeria and introduced potential investment and business opportunities. Under discussion for mutual interest in investments the sectors included, Banking and Financial Services, Tourism, Transportation, Ports, Construction and Real Estate Development. Kuwait Finance House-Bahrain presented special interest projects to the Algerian Delegation, such as, Industrial, Petrochemical and real estate investments in the country and other major investment sectors. The delegation also discussed economic topics and business opportunities of mutual interest and agreed to follow up the discussions in the near future aiming to develop business opportunities between the parties. Mr. AbdulHakeem AlKhayyat, General Manager of Kuwait Finance House-Bahrain, said, "Kuwait Finance House-Bahrain and Al Salam Bank will be sending a delegation to Algeria to secure investment opportunities in Algeria early next year. Mr. Yusif Taqi, Chief Executive Officer of Al Salam Bank assured the delegates of Al Salam Bank's interest to invest in potential business opportunities in Algeria and confirmed that Al Salam Bank has already obtained a banking license in Algeria for Al Salam Bank and expected to start its operations in Algeria shortly. The meeting was concluded with positive outcomes followed by a business lunch in the Ritz Carlton Hotel for the visiting delegates.
