Woosh Wireless

A private equity investment within NZAPEF, Woosh Wireless was acquired by KFH-Bahrain in 2004. KFH and NZAPEF collectively hold an indirect ownership interest of 5 %. The company currently provides wireless broadband data and voice services in New Zealand.

The company is positioned to be a strong and leading player in the telecommunication market in New Zealand having its focus on increased coverage and a carefully thought out merger plan with the smaller players in the market. In 2006 Woosh announced the acquisition of Quicksilver, an Internet Service Provider(ISP) with 10,000 billing customers.

Woosh will be seen as a market consolidator through the commencement of the ISP consolidation process. The acquisition will improve market credibility and will enhance Woosh’s ability to close additional deals This effectively makes Woosh a full service telecommunications company with dial-up, broadband and toll customers.

Currently, the company is embarking on a massive marketing drive to increase its network coverage and existing subscriber base in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Southland — to other major cities in New Zealand.
